Abstract

This research explores ellipsis and implication in grammatical discourse, analyzing their syntactic roles and how concise expression enhances scientific communication without distorting meaning.

Ellipsis follows specific conditions, with early scholars identifying eight rules and modern linguists adding two more. Implication naturally accompanies ellipsis, ensuring that omitted elements are understood based on context.

These phenomena manifest across different syntactic levels, playing a crucial role in linguistic structure. The study relies on both classical and modern sources to trace the origins and evolution of ellipsis and implication as interconnected features of scientific discourse
